Here's what I am looking for when choosing a WINNER!!

  • Staying in the boundary:which means keeping the colour  inside a given  area and not stepping outside the boundary of that area. If you take your time and focus this can be done very well!
  • Helpful suggestion:if you outline and colour in, this will help you stay  inside the  boundary of a given area.  It will also give cleaner edges which is very important in pencil crayon art.
  • Colouring in the direction of the shape or line:Colouring in the direction of the shape or line will help you fill in the paper move evenly. If done correctly, the white of the paper should not show through. Please see example above.

What's most IMPORTANT:

  • HAVE FUN!!If you take your time without rushing, it will come through in your final drawing and this is what I am looking for.
  • MISTAKES HAPPEN!!Even for me! What's made me such a great pencil crayon artist is NEVER GIVING UP.  I encourage you to work through your mistakes and keep trying.
